Awake NY is back with Jordan Brand, this time taking on the Air Jordan 6 for the model’s 35th anniversary. The New York label has prepared two colorways, “Blueberry” and “Bubblegum”, following its Air Jordan 5 collaboration from last year.
Each pair sticks to its own color family, using different shades of blue or pink across the upper. Nubuck covers the forefoot and toe box as a nod to the original 1991 Air Jordan 6 “Infrared”, while Awake NY’s “A” logo appears on the reflective side panels.
There are also a few details tied closely to New York. Saffiano leather is used across the overlays and heel, referencing the designer bags and accessories that became part of Canal Street’s bootleg culture. Red contrast stitching runs throughout both pairs, while the outsole keeps the familiar Air Jordan 6 “Infrared” color blocking with added speckling.
Awake branding replaces the traditional “AIR” lettering on the heel and also appears across the translucent tongue. Speckled co-branded hangtags finish off the footwear, while a matching apparel collection will release alongside the sneakers.
The campaign was shot at Flushing Meadows Corona Park and features local New Yorkers along with Futura and Grace Ladoja.
