Original Story:
The shoe is designed to be worn, torn, or completely ripped over time. The more the shoe is worn, the more reveal elements that shine through the beautiful denim overlayed upper. The denim can be completely removed to reveal the graphic or torn in parts to add style to your personal aesthetic.
Nearly all of the color appears away from the upper. Purple, blue, green, and orange dress the mismatched traction pods beneath the shoes, creating a sharp contrast against the black rubber outsole. The Jordan 13’s signature cat-eye hologram also gets a subtle update with a pale green tint.
WINGS details are worked into several areas of the shoe, including the tongue and the graphic placed behind it. Inside, the colorful insoles are covered with illustrations of school supplies, diplomas, Jordan logos, creative tools, and motivational messages. The artwork connects the release back to the students and young people supported through the WINGS program. That same artwork appears inside the special-edition box as part of the “Wings Legacy Graphic.” Rather than treating the packaging as an extra, Jordan Brand uses it to tell more of the story behind the collection and recognize students who have received educational support and scholarship opportunities through the program.
